So I decided today I was going to ask a few of my co-workers, family and friends about the cause. I set up a few questions for them so I could start figuring out what people thought about the movement and things that to some extent relate to it.

1) What is your personal income bracket?
a)less then $15,000
b)$15,000-$24,999
c)$25,000-$34,999
d)$35,000-$44,999
e)$45,000-$54,999
f)$55,000 or greater

2)What is your current education level?
a) Less then a high school diploma
b) High school diploma
c)associates degree
d)Bachelor degree
e) Masters or higher

These two questions are my independent variables for this survey.

My dependent variables will be the following questions about the actual topic. When I am done I should be able to get a better idea of what group supports the movement.

3)Do you favor a continued effort to make the US/Canadian boarder more open?
a)Yes
b)No

4) Do you support the concept of the North American Free Trade Agreement?
a)Yes
b)No

5) Do you have a positive view of the Canadian people as a whole?
a)Yes
b)No

6) Would you support a process of a mutual and demicratic annexation of Canada in to the United States of America?
a)Yes
b)No

7) Do you believe the United States of America benifits from its relationship with Canada?
a)Yes
b)No

I decided to only go with 7 questions as it seems the fewer questions you have the more people will sit through them all. I have asked 20 people so far and I am looking to ask atleast 500 people in my local area. It is only 1% of the population but I do think it would be a good start. After the 500 make I am sure I will continue to the 1000 mark.

I know NAFTA and the open boarder aren't directly related to the topic of annexation but I figured they were somewhat relivent to the views of the people to the over all goal here.

You can scrap the first two questions because they would be considered personal questions that are not relevant to the following 5 questions.

The first two aren;t relevent to the topic execpt to get an idea of the type of people who are supportive. Plus I am actually using it for a class so I can get people to answer it when they know it is for a class. :)

The first two questions may be relevant although some may not want to disclose that information. I would not be surprised if you find the more wealthier an individual is the more they may be open to a UNA concept.

It is actually a sociology class. Yeah I think the wealthier people are going to be more open to the idea as it will open up more job market and business oppertunities to them. On the same know I think the more educated will also feel the same about it as they usually have a more liberal view and I think the liberal population will be more open to a country that has a universal health care system.
